Natural Products Group (NPG) sells personal care products direct to consumers and through retail distribution channels.  NPG has two subsidiaries Arbonne, an international direct to consumer distribution business, and Levlad, a manufacturing and wholesale business. This is a corporate accounting position located in Irvine that reports to the VP, Corporate Controller.  The Assistant Controller is responsible for all transaction accounting related to Arbonne International and its subsidiaries as well as playing an active role in the development of management reporting.  In addition the individual is responsible for maintaining a sound control environment and acting as the main liaison with Arbonne’s outside audit firm.  The individual is responsible for regularly improving processes and increasing the efficiency of the organization.  The position will interface extensively with management within Arbonne, the Corporate CFO and the Finance Managers of our foreign subsidiaries.



  1. Supervise staff at both the corporate headquarters and our California manufacturing facility.
  2. Insure timely and accurate  record keeping of accounts payable.
  3. Provide accounting support to the sales and customer service teams.
  4. To insure the accuracy of the general ledger including timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  5. Insure the accurate recording of fixed assets and related depreciation including the determination of the capitalization of purchases and expenditures.
  6. Insure that all accruals are appropriate and properly recorded.
  7. Insure an adequate control environment exists over the recording of transactions and the safeguarding of the company’s assets.
  8. Maintain capitalization tables and stock based compensation accounts.
  9. Lead the monthly reviews of the subsidiary financial statements.
  10. Ensure that transactions are executed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  11. Serve as a key contact in facilitating the completion of the Company’s annual audits.
  12. Provide support in the preparation of annual budgets and ad hoc forecasts.
  13. Provide analysis to support the Tax, FP&A and Treasury departments.
  14. Review internal controls and identify and correct any control weaknesses.
  15. Oversee our outsource partner performing debt, equity and intangibles valuations.
  16. Support the IT department with budget preparation, expense analysis and vendor management.
  17. Act as the accounting functional lead on all system implementations and upgrades.

   18. Train and develop staff. 


   19. Research technical accounting issues.


   20. Work with Financial Management to develop and maintain a set of accounting policies and controls, compliant with 

         GAAP standards and effective internal controls. Evaluate appropriate implementation strategies for changes in

         accounting standards and/or controls.


   21. Other special projects as defined.





A minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting and private industry as well as CPA designation are required.  Experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Management of shared services environment
  • Account analysis and reconciliations
  • GAAP accounting
  • Monthly closing
  • Financial reporting
  • Process Improvements
  • Operational accounting and interaction with Operations management
  • Establish, update and document policies and procedures
  • Oracle ERP system
